When did this happen???

Ok, it just hit me! I was shopping today for my little girl when I realized I have to start shopping in the "big girl" sizes. I guess 5T is considered older girl and so it is with sadness that I start to make my way over to "big girls" sizes while I wipes away my tears every step of the way. There has been alot of changes recentley and I'm not sure how I feel about them all. My middle boy got baptized last weekend and I can hardly believe it. My oldest boy will soon be passing the sacrament and close to being a TEENAGER. My little girl left nursery and went into sunbeams which left me with that crazy feeling of not having anymore babies in nursery. When did this all happen? Where was I? I swear I didn't see them grow up or I would have pressed the pause button. Slow down time. I realize the older I get the faster time flies and it scares me. For all those times I wanted the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months to pass by, I take it back, I want those seconds, minutes, hours, days back. I want to press pause on my family and enjoy them more. I want more time to really watch them and enjoy them. I want time to slow down. So, I guess I can't slow down anything but myself. So, here's to a new year of hopefully not wishing one second away-enjoying the here and now and loving it, because I know it is all going way too fast!

I got my sweet little girl a book called, Pinkalicious. It is one of the cutest books. This little girl makes pink cupcakes with her mom and eats so many she turns pink. We just had to make pink cupcakes after we read the book. She just loved them and we didn't even turn pink!

So, I just finished reading a book called, "The Last Lecture". I'm sure you have heard about it, I found it a very thought provoking book. This man is diagnosed with cancer and is given three months to live. The book was written for his children and he tells them the lessons in life he has learned and the lessons he feels are so important to pass on to his kids. I started to think in my 35 years of life what things do I "know forsure". What have I learned or are learning that I would pass on.

. Laugh until your belly hurts-I love to laugh but can you remember the last time you laughed until your stomch hurt. I did a few weeks ago at a halloween party and my stomach hurt the next day. Those are the times I will remember, and the time spent with those people that I will hold close to my heart. So when given the chance, Laugh. laugh outloud, laugh until you cry, laugh until your mouth hurts from smiling!

.You never know what you can do until you try-I have had some succcess' and some failures and the one's I regret the most are when I never even tried. I hate math and have never been any good at it. In College I changed my major many times and gave up on a dream of being a Social Worker because I heard the math classes were tough. Big mistake, I wish I would have tried!!!
I love decorating and when I was twenty one decided to start a wedding business. I had that business for seven years until it got to be too much and I sold it, but man am I grateful for the opprotunity and grateful I took a chance and tried because I learned many valuable lessons from the expierence. "It's hard to fail, but it's worse never to have tried to succeed"

.Be a kind person-Be kind in everything you do(although it's not always that easy) I really don't enjoy mean people in fact, I down right avoid them at all costs. Life is too short. Surround yourself with people that you enjoy, that truly make you happy.

.Be Empathetic-Care about others. Try and see things through others people's eye's. Try to imagine how they feel. I know I have been guilty of thinking of my needs and my needs only when I should be thinking about others and what I can do to help them. Truly caring for others is a trait that in the world today is an asset to have.

.To each their own- I love this statment! We are all so different and that is what makes life so fun and interesting. Everyone does things in a different way it doesn't mean it's wrong, it's just another way of doing it. (This is VERY important in a marriage, I just had a disscusion with my husband about thanksgiving dinner, his mothers thanksgiving dinner is very different from my mother's thanksgiving dinner and it's OK !- I'll just stop there!)

.Do what you say your going to do-Flaky is one characteristic I dislike. I get upset when people say they will do something and they don't. It's such a simple concept and it's a lesson I hope I have learned in life. I always try to be reliable and that is one thing I hope to pass on to my children.

.Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver the other is gold-Have good friends, keep in contact with them. They will be part of that group that makes you cry until your stomach hurts.

.Try to live your life with as few regrets as possible-Dream big, follow your heart. Expierence life and don't let anyone tell you you can't do something. See the world (when possible) try new things and never stop learning. Don't let fear get in the way.

.Pray always-The lord knows what you need, just ask he will guide you. The lord can and will work miracles. I have had many expierences where I know the lord was with me and helping me. Stay close to the lord and he will ALWAYS be with you.

So, these are a few of the things I have learned in my 35 years of life. I can't say I have mastered anyone of them, but it is through living life that I have learned some of them and are continually working on them but they are things I would want my children to learn. So, what are a few life lessons you have learned that you would pass on? It really makes you think.

The words to LeAnn Womack song says it all:

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance, I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'
Don't let some hell-bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to sellin' out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance, I hope you dance
I hope you dance, I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion, always rolling us along
Tell me who wants to look back on their years
And wonder, where those years have gone)
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance, I hope you dance
I hope you dance, I hope you dance
I hope you dance, I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along
Tell me who wants to look back on their years
And wonder where those years have gone)

My sweet little girl was watching the Disney channel and they were singing this song "Magic". she fell in love with it and sings it all day long. I thought it was just so cute that I am sharing.
